British chef Nadiya Hussain has become a household name in Britain since winning in the 2015 season of The Great British Bake Off in 2015. A series of cookbooks ensued and her new show began streaming on Netflix.

What I and the world love most about Nadiya, aside from her stunning smile, is her unabashed use of shortcuts, ingredient hacks, and quick fixes. Like any amateur home cook, she confesses that she enjoys impressing her family and friends with dishes – and she’ll use any trick in the book to achieve it.

Teriyaki salmon ready in 15!

This teriyaki salmon recipe, with a versatile mango salsa to boot, is what we’d call a Nadiya classic. Fancy on the outside, delicious on the inside, and quick to make. And the salmon is easily substituted with other types of meaty fish or lighter meats.

Before you head over to her website for the recipe and start cooking, remember Nadiya’s own frequent advice – shortcuts are okay.

If you want to make your own teriyaki sauce and have the ingredients on hand, great! If not, just pick up your favorite teriyaki at the store. Especially if you’re really short on time.

This meal for two really does take an easy 20 minutes to make. If you add it to your regular household menu, get the hang of it, and use store-bought teriyaki sauce, you’ll have dinner on the table in 15 minutes or a meal for a family of four in half an hour total.

Either way, you can’t go wrong.
